VIENNA OPERNSOMMER BELVEDERE

The inaugural "Vienna Opernsommer Belvedere" under the patronage of Vienna's Mayor Dr. Michael Ludwig and with Artistic Director Joji Hattori will offer ten open-air performances of Mozart's Don Giovanni. The festival will take place from 1st to 20th July 2024 in the beautiful gardens of the Belvedere - with the Upper Belvedere Castle in the background. A summer opera project with artistic excellence in combination with an accessible, humorous production (dialogues instead of Italian recitatives between the musical numbers) is designed to delight locals and tourists alike!

In 2015, Joji Hattori opened SHIKI Japanese Fine Dining, Brasserie & Bar ( www.shiki.at ) on Krugerstrasse 3, in the very center of Vienna, only a few steps away from its main Opera House.
As its proprietor, he constantly inspires and motivates his qualified team, to improve every day.
This exclusive Japanese restaurant serves both traditional and fusion dishes and has received 2 hats (16 points) from Gault Millau, 3 forks (91 points) from Falstaff and 4 stars (87 points) from A-la-carte, as well as a Michelin Star.

Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists

The Menuhin Competition takes place every two years at a different location and is considered to be the most important international competition for young violinists. It also includes a major violin festival featuring all jury members as performers and provides an educational forum to all participants and visiting musicians. Joji Hattori, winner of this event in 1989, is now President and Member of the Jury of this exciting Competition-Festival.

Lauenen Chamber Concerts

Joji Hattori is Artistic Director of the Lauenen Chamber Concert series. His aim is „to bring together a small number of top international chamber musicians to perform in Lauenen’s cosy chapel to an audience whose sensitivity for absorbing beautiful music will be enhanced by the natural beauty of the surroundings.“

Joji Hattori has initiated this non-profit project, which is managed by the Hattori Foundation. The building, no.7 Exton Street in London (Southbank), serves its artistic community as an affordable venue for rehearsals, meetings, exhibitions, performances etc. as well as private functions.

Hattori Foundation

The Hattori Foundation for Music and the Arts was established as an educational trust by the Hattori Family and granted charity status in 1992. The aim of the Foundation in the field of music is to encourage and assist exceptionally talented young instrumentalists and chamber ensembles who are based in the UK.
